Background

Our Story

Most hosting providers make you choose between solid hardware and a well-connected facility. We decided not to make that trade-off.

You could get a well-connected location with decade-old servers, or modern hardware buried in a poorly-peered facility. Either way you were leaving performance on the table. No provider was offering both at a price that made sense.

We moved to 123Net's Detroit-area data center in Southfield, Michigan and put Dell enterprise servers with Intel Xeon Scalable processors inside it. On-site access to the Detroit Internet Exchange, upstream routing to 370+ BGP peers via 90+ IX connections, no overselling. That's the whole thing.

If you need reliable compute for databases, APIs, and applications, and you need your traffic to reach users fast, you shouldn't have to compromise on either. That's exactly what we built.
Differentiators

Why RackWorks

01

No Overselling

A lot of providers pack hundreds of VMs onto overloaded nodes and hope nobody notices. When you buy 2 vCPUs, you get 2 vCPUs. Your neighbor's traffic spike is not your problem.

02

Honest Pricing

The price on the page is what you pay. No setup fees, no bandwidth overage surprises, no introductory rates that triple on renewal. We'd rather keep your business long-term than trick you into signing up.

03

Real Support

No ticket queues that take days. No chatbots. When you reach out, you talk to someone on our team who actually understands your server and can fix the problem.

04

Modern Hardware

Dell enterprise servers with Intel Xeon Scalable processors at 123Net's Detroit facility with on-site Detroit-IX access. Current-generation compute and strong network connectivity. Not a trade-off between the two.

05

Built In-House, Top to Bottom

Most providers bolt together off-the-shelf billing platforms, leased control panels, and third-party automation tools, then wonder why things break. We don't. Every piece of customer-facing software: the client portal, provisioning pipeline, and billing logic, is written and maintained by our own team. No WHMCS. No leased control panel licenses. No vendor dependency sitting between you and your server.

Infrastructure

The Datacenter

123Net DC1, Southfield, Michigan. On-site access to the Detroit Internet Exchange. A carrier-neutral facility built for serious workloads.

Detroit-IX Connected
On-site access to the largest fee-free IX in the world. 90+ IX peers including Google, Amazon, and Cloudflare, with 370+ BGP peers total via upstream transit.
Multi-Homed Upstream
Redundant connectivity through multiple tier-1 carriers. If one path fails, traffic routes through another automatically.
Central US Latency
Detroit puts you under 20ms to New York and under 10ms to Chicago, with good paths to both coasts without sacrificing either.
20 MW / 2(N+1) Power
123Net's Southfield facility runs 20 megawatts of capacity with 2(N+1) cooling redundancy and diverse A+B power feeds to every rack.
Physical Security
Multi-factor access controls, 24/7 on-site NOC, full CCTV coverage, and audited access logging throughout the facility.
NVMe Storage
Every server runs on solid-state drives. No spinning disks, consistent I/O, reliable throughput for database and application workloads.
